Personal
I am a consultant, a specialist in marketing, martech and adtech, a developer in my spare time, and a lover of free software and Dungeons & Dragons. Pirate and nerd.
My fascination with technology started early, when I got my first video game, a clone of the Atari 2600 made by the much-missed CCE, which made me want to create my own games. That became a reality when, in fifth grade, I was introduced for the first time to a computer I could really use: an MSX Hotbit running the Logo programming language, and from then on nobody could stop me.
Later I started studying Computer Science at UNISINOS, where I held a scholarship in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Applied Computing (PIP-CA), working on several Software Engineering projects.
Today, besides working, adventuring across Azeroth (For the Alliance!), running RPG games and taking care of my beloved wife and my pack (five dogs at the moment), I try to take part in technological innovation movements, especially those involving digital communication and the human connections it creates. That is why I contribute to some open source projects, volunteer to teach people how to code and show up at every single “blessed” Campus Party.
Work
I have been working with the internet since the last century, when I started as webmaster at the newspaper Correio do Povo in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Since then I have worked at companies such as SERPRO, Terra Networks, Cadastra, Grupo RBS (the Globo affiliate in Rio Grande do Sul) and the now-defunct DM9 (DDB Brasil) and Mindigitall, both owned by the equally defunct Grupo ABC.
I am currently part of the Customer Tech in Marketing team at Accenture Song, as an architect specializing in personalization, creating connected and intelligent solutions that enable companies to run business processes in a customer-centric culture.
Although I built my career in an office, in a remote past I got my hands dirty! I worked as a mechanical technician specializing in toolmaking and die making, building molds (dies) for injected materials, such as shoe soles and plastic packaging.
